The new Jumanji movie should not have been called that. It would have been fine as a standalone film, even without the name drop. I feel it has enough to stand on, and enough of an edge to merit its  own name. It isn’t really a sequel, which is another thing. If it would have been a true sequel, then there would have been a lot more references to the first, and there aren’t. It really is a different type of movie, and I have sneaking suspicion tjumanji 1hat it was the studios who wanted the name be Jumanji.

The children’s book Jumanji, written by Chris Van Allsburg, was published in 1981. 14 years later, the movie came out, and 22 years after that came out the sequel film, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. In reality, the sequel book was titled Zathura, and it was published in 2002. It had little to do with the original, but the themes were similar. Van Allsburg waited quite a while between the two books, and I have often wondered why that was. Either way, so far the count is two books, and three movies. A film version of Zathura was released in 2005, zathurabut it did not do nearly as well as the other two, and was considered quite a flop. Another movie is yet to be made official, and presumably is still waiting for execs to greenlight it.

Is it all about the money? Probably, as far as the investors are concerned. “Who cares what it’s about, as long as the kids go!” sang Roger Waters in Pink Floyd’s The Final Cut (1983), and he is absolutely right. Sometimes, I feel as if it is only in the indie scene that quality films can be made. Or Europe, for that matter. There is something about the big budget productions and Hollywood movies which has the potential to suck the soul out of anythikevin smithng. Filmmaking is one hell of a business. It is still show business in essence, and it is still one of the most cutthroat industries there are. Certainly when there is so much money involved.

Look at Kevin Smith. He maxed out his credit cards, dipped into his college savings, sold off a large part of his comic book collection, and made Clerks for under $28,000. What a ballsy decision by Smith, eh? But if you are going to make it in this, or probably any, business, you need to be ready to make some sacrifices.

Tea Tree Oil Recipes

pretty hair and faces 1 Do you have a bunch of boisterous kiddies that love to play outside –if they are not on their devices of course! These days seeing any kids playing outside is nothing sure of a miracle! There are still some rare cases though! I am trying not to laugh and cry as I write this! It’s actually so true to fact that so many kiddies these days would rather be at home on their X-boxes or Wii’s or IPads or… or… or…! But for the rare few that do like to “keep it real” as I would say – i.e. playing out in nature in all the wondrous ways in which Mother Earth rovides for a naturally inspired game – like swimming and climbing
trees to name but a few. If you have one of those families and households that likes to endeavor to play in the outdoors and well, you get a little sweaty here and there… a good natural solution to combat this is using the likes of Tea Tree Oil!

Tea tree oil eliminates body odor. It has antimicrobial properties that destroy the bacteria on your skin that causes body odor. You and your family can make homemade tea tree oil deodorant by mixing it with baking soda and coconut oil. We advise you to try the following recipe; – Take a clear spray bottle that you can buy in any pharmacy.
– Add;
 3 Tbsp Coconut Oil.
 3 Tbsp Shea Butter.
 1/4 Cup Arrow Root Powder or Cornstarch.
 1/4 Cup Baking Soda.
 1 Tbsp Bee's Wax Optional: works well if using an old deodorant container.
 20-30 Drops Tea Tree Essential Oil.
– Mix and shake accordingly and you are ready to spray!
If your kiddies like to play sports and get used to the ‘great outdoors’ and or if you yourself are into a form of exercise like running or going to the gym then you can also add Tea Tree oil to your shoes and sports gear to keep them smelling refreshed and renewed!
If you are trying Tea Tree oil as a deodorant and if you do decide to add them to your sports gear then why not add Tea Tree oil to your shower range. It works wonders as a Shampoo and Conditioner – not neat of course but either try making a home-made natural Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner or you can even buy a pre-made one oils-for-hair-growthout there on the ever growing natural products market. I personally love Tea Tree. I love using it naturally for the likes of any little pimples, small infections, cold sores, bites, sores, when I get sun-burnt and for any of those irritating boils that may arise on occasion. I endeavor to have a bottle of Tea Tree oil in my medicine cabinet at home as well as added to my shower range which wouldn’t be the same without a good bottle of Tea Tree oil Shampoo! In my opinion you can’t go wrong with Tea Tree. It has so many natural and effective healing properties that I have actually seen work and that my friends and I all rave about that it would be selfish of me to not share the workings of Tea Tree oil’s good news! So… well, go forth and buy a bottle, whether that be a pre- made good natural shampoo or a tried attempt to make a home-made product – with Tea Tree you won’t be disappointed!

Nutrogena Products

Unless you’ve been living under a rock – and if you are, my congratulations! How ever do you pull it off?! – you are aware of Nutrogena. It is a company which has existed for nearly a century. In cosmetics terms, that is relatively old. It is nice to have such companies around. Companies like Garnier and Rimmel as well, which have been around for over a cpretty hair and faces 2entury!

So, Nutrogena is a leader in its field, and it got to this position because of A- how amazing their products are, and B – how innovative their research and development department is. They manage to stay at the forefront of the beauty industry, in a world where new ideas and products are popping up every day. And trust me, it takes more than a name to keep you in business these days. Regardless of the name, people will drop you like a hot potato unless you deliver results. A name will get you somewhere, sure, but it will only get you so far.

In 1994, Nutrogena was taken over by Johnson and Johnson, and now its products are being distributed in close to 80 countries. That is a massive upgrade considering their rather humble beginning. This is a copmany which had to struggle to get by, and the tenacity of its founders and the loyalty of its customers has kept it going. Also, the science and nature behind their products is evident, and many people around the world can appreciate that.

The company releases many different types of washes, cleansers, shampoos, moisturizers, make up and beauty supplies, and even sunscreen. Skin, body, hair, lips – anything you want, pretty much. And it does it with a touch of class to boot.

This Nutrogena ‘all-in-one acne control’ review, by Maple Holistics, is one worth looking at. It is a daily scrub which battles acne on both the short- and long-term fronts. It is not too aggressive to be considered medical – thus becoming prescription only – but is not so mild as to be considered ineffective. You’ll have to try it on your own and see if it is able to help you out. And it does not need to stop with acne, necessarily. Many facial irritations or inflammations can be treated and subsequently prevented with use of the Nutrogena line of products. Does it work for everyone? nope . pretty hair and faces 1We have different types of skin and different genetic makeups. But, it does seem to be very helpful to a wide percentage of those who use their stuff. Nutrogena keeps you look refreshed, hydrated, and clean. And it does so with different blends and in a safe and secure manner. Not all companies are so quality-oriented, but Nutrogena is committed to delivering the best. Obviously they are still out there to make some money, just like any other company. But there is a sense of treating their clientele with more respect and understanding their needs. I like that about this company, and it is partly why I keep coming back to them.

Lynda The MOOC

Lynda was established in the mid-90’s. It is based in California, and it wasn’t originally created to be a massiv indexe open online course (MOOC) website. Online courses began to make an appearance in 2002, and by 2008 Lynda Weinman (the founder) was producing and creating her own series of documentaries on learning, art, and education. Check out more amazing education oriented content at
Lynda is international, and it has offices in England, Australia, and the United States. In 2015 it was acquired by linkedIn, and it is still helping many students improve their situation in life. Whether they are learning for business or pleasure, Lynda is a wonderful platform for learning and training.

Lynda has its own in-house team of experts, and they produce videos which are easy to use with varying degrees of skill and know how. There is a 10-day free trial, for those who want to see what it is all about, and there are three main categories to choose from:

Within each of these are many sub-categories. There are also learning laths tailored towards reaching a specific goal, such as becoming a digital marketer, project coordinator, or graphic designer. Lynda has some 600 expert teachers, and the site enables the student to learn anywhere, and to switch between devices (computer, tablet, phone) quickly and effortlessly with their designated app.

Lynda also provides educational services for companies, and offer group memberships for those who are interested. There are over 4,000 videos on, with more being added every week. There are two individual membership options: Basic membership – the monthly fee is $24.99. There is also the option of a single annual payment, which comes out to $239.88 ($19.99 per month).

Premium membership – $34.99 per month, and here there is also the option of an annual payment, which comes out to $359.88 ($29.99 per month)

Lynda can sometimes feel too big for a first-timer, but you get used to the platform and the design quickly. Once you choose your courses and are up and running, everything runs smoothly. Lynnda is also supposed to have great customer service, though I never used it personally. I may have, had there not been a video titled “how to use”images

The interface of the Lynda platform is very well-designed. You can tell that the creators of the website have a keen eye and attention to detail. The courses can be view in a number of resolutions, and the player is easy to use. Alongside the player is often a transcript of the course, which makes following much easier. FAQs created by students are also available, and there is a vibrant community of users on the Lynda website. Learning becomes a much more social and pleasant experience, which is something which a lot of MOOCs have in common. Lynda’s goal is “to help you learn the skills you need to achieve your full potential.” Plain and simple, it is a place where people can grow and evolve. Lynda is doing a great job at educating those who frequent its digital halls. It provides students with the tools they need to really advance themselves, and that is no small feat.

Argan baby!

Caring for you hair and skin is something that we should all do, but all too frequently we let fall by the wayside. And no, I’m not talking to you girls, I’m well aware of how much you gals care about making sure you’re flawless, I’m talking to all the guys out there. Surprised? You shouldn’t be, skin and hair care is hardly a girl thing alone. We have skin just like the girls do, and we definitely need to take care of it just as much as the girls do, perhaps even more than girls do, as we have been neglecting it for far too long. You may think that grabbing some random shampoo off the shelf and whatever bar of soap you think has the best shape is sufficient in deciding what products to use, but let me tell you, it really isn’t.

Sure you may be able to get by, but there are things that you just are not considering when you go about acting like this. You completely forget about conditioning, and let me tell you, if your hair is longer than a buzzcut, you’re going to be needing conditioner. Trust me, conditioner is not just a girl thing, and if you want healthy hair, you’ll use it. And you definitely need something to clean out your pores, which some bars of soap just do not do a well enough job at. It’s a real shame that you’re still getting zits, despite being well past your teens, but it’s easily fixable. In fact, both problems are fixable with the same thing, which is to start using argan oil based products such as argan oil shampoo from Maple Holistics.

So no more grabbing stuff randomly off of the shelves, either you look at the ingredients to see if it has argan oil in it, or you just buy online where you can clearly see what’s inside of the product.argan-oil

Honestly, argan oil has really helped me out, as it helped me with both my acne problem and (although this is probably more than just the argan oil by itself) helped get rid of my dandruff. I pretty much only use products with argan oil in it now, and I’ve actually started eating argan oil with my food, as it is full of omega 3 and vitamin E. Argan oil is a truly versatile substance, not only great for healing scar tissue (did I mention that it can be used to heal up scar tissue? Because it totally can) but also great as a topping on bread.

It’s no wonder that the Moroccans have been doing this for years, as morocco is where argan oil originates from. And they definitely use it in their everyday life. Not only as a topping, but also as a treatment for minor skin ailments and hair maladies. It was a truly marvelous day when we discovered argan oil, not only for morocco, but also for the rest of humankind as well. Truly, argan oil can and does do it all.

Getting My MOOC On With Udemy

Massive open online courses (MOOCs) are one of the hottest and greatest phenomenon online. These sites are guided by the notion that education cannot and should not remain in the halls of academia or other establishment. Knowledge is power, and MOOC websites seek to spread that power around.

Udemy was founded in 2009 by three individuals who sought to make education easier, and to reach a wider audience. They wanted content that will be produced by the websites users, unlike MOOC websites like Lynda or Coursera.

learn yesThere are over 8 million students subscribed to Udemy. The website hosts thousands and thousands of courses, on nearly every topic imaginable. These courses are taught by instructors. Some of these instructors are certified, and others are merely experienced. Udemy has quality standards, and as long as you can uphold them, you can teach.

Because of this method of user-generated content, the website does have some disadvantages when it comes to quality assurance and control. Udemy relies heavily on student feedback, because hundreds of new courses are added each and every month.

Whether you are interested in learning a new language or programming skill; starting a business or getting ahead at work; become more productive around the office or the house – Udemy can make all of that happen. It is a way for you to improve yourself, at your own pace, on your own terms.

The courses on Udemy are either free or paid. Sometimes, certain instructors will open up tutorials and intro courses free of charge, so you can get an idea of the course and who its instructor is. Some courses are similar in nature, and they are taught by different instructors. It is up to the student to figure out what works best.

Udemy is constantly growing, and its staff is always updating the database, removing low-quality content and/or instructors, and improving on what is there.great

If you are looking for a way to learn a new skill, or perhaps develop an existing one, Udemy is a great starting point, and with it, you really feel as though the world – and its wealth of knowledge and wisdom – are all at your fingertips. Not everything can be taught online, but those things that can? Well, Udemy is where you will find them. Want more information? You can find great reviews on all the online learning websites at and other education blogs.

Get Online and Learn Something New

moversHello again from Brandknewday.comThey say knowledge is power but that only goes so far. Get into a fight with a boxer and we’ll see how far your knowledge goes. I suppose you could talk him out of the fight but I digress. Physical power aside, the more you know the better off you are in today’s society. The jobs of yester-year are evolving. People in today’s work force need a broader set of skills. While manual labor jobs like moving may not require more than physical strength I would add that if you own a moving company you may want to know how to market online or create a website for yourself. My point is having these skills can only be an advantage for you and your business.

So further education is a must if we want to grow in whatever field we may find ourselves working. The prospect of going back to school scares most people. I mean, can you recall the last time you had to sit in a classroom and listen to a teacher blabber on about math or philosophy? For me its been years. Thankfully there are more choices out there for people looking to further their knowledge. In recent years there has been a explosion of websites offering courses from the very academic (philosophy, calculus, etc…) to the more practical (graphic design, computer programming, etc…) These websites have re-invented how we can learn and how knowledge can be dispersed. Don’t want to have to sit in a classroom? You no longer have to, you can take classes in the comfort of your own home. The classes are pre-recorded most of the time so you can also learn at your own convenience.

photoshopI personally have had an interest in graphic design for some time and wanted to start learning how to use programs like Adobe Photoshop. My busy schedule would constantly make me have to push off taking the classes. It left me frustrated and unhappy. I did some research and found a couple of tutorials on one of these E-learning sites. I signed up and blocked out the 20 minutes or so I would need to watch the video and begin learning. This was a month ago and I have begun working on my ow projects via Photoshop. The ease of taking the class and the flexibility of being able to learn when I could allowed me to begin working on a passion of mine. This is just one example of how online courses have improved my life.

So if you’re looking to start a new hobby or get into a different field of work or even just trying to up your game in your current work situation, online courses can be a great way to get a move on. They are affordable and the array of choices are nearly endless. Get on the internet and start learning something new!

Putting In Purple Shampoo

Welcome back to Brandknewday, i hope you enjoyed my first blog post. Many hair care products have a niche market. It comes with the territory, because of the abundance of hair types and styles.

Sometimes, a product is actually called for. Other times, it is simply a clever marketing ploy. This fine creation, Putting purple incalled ‘purple shampoo’, is of the former group. It is practically essential for those who wish to maintain their light tones, once unwanted yellow tones begin to make their appearance on that gorgeous nogin of theirs.

Blondes who have brassy hair, and who desire a lighter shade, will do well to remember this next bit: purple is the new blonde. Did I just make that line up? Absolutely. Is it true? Absolutely.

If you use purple shampoo once a week (or whenever your hair becomes a bit too brassy for your taste), you will find that your hair keeps its color for longer. This is because the purple in the shampoo cancels out the yellower colors in your hair, leaving it lighter and more unified.

There are many kinds of purple shampoos in today’s market, and I am not here to recommend a specific one. Why? Because when it comes to hair care products, it really is a personal thing. A matter of taste and preference. Also, what works for me and my hair type won’t necessarily work for others. I mean, yeah, I could recommend a product until the cows come home. After that, I suppose I could use it on those very same cows. Then, I would probably be the target of a widespread smear campaign, organized by the powerful cow association, and then—well, I’ve said enough. The point is, with hair products, there is usually a need for experimentation, and I encourage those experiments. They help you achieve a more personal routine, which is fit for you perfectly. I found some great info on purple shampoo at

Watch out for harmful chemicalsWatch out for ingredients, though. Some shampoos have waaay to many preservatives, parabens, detergents, and other harmful chemicals. Having some less-than-optimal ingredients is okay, just remember that what sits on your scalp eventually makes its way into your body. Do some research, and find one which appeals to you in more ways than that which is written on the price tag. Sometimes, a cheap product is really just that – cheap.

Fly, you fools! Go forth, my fine, funky, fair-haired frauliens!

Blonde power.

Living a More Natural Life

I’m very excited to say this is my first blog post here at with more on the way. In this day and age of internet and pollution I have tried to scale back and try to live a more natural life, “back to nature” if you will. But to many this is a very vague idea. I wouldn’t be able to tell you how many times I have been asked what exactly I mean by natural living. Communication

In a way I have no exact idea of what it means, only what it means to me. I feel that as humans we have lost what it means to be human. Communication, understanding, and general empathy is what has got us this far. I am well aware that there are many people who would argue that the lack of all three is what has really got us here and in a way they are right. But in my opinion it is only through mutual understanding that we can right the wrongs that the human race has created.

Natural living does not only include how we relate to each-other. It also has to do with how we personally relate with our world. The foods we eat and the products we use on a daily basis can have a huge effect on our relationship to the world at large.

I find that for me this means finding products that are produced by companies that are ecologically conscious. Whether using organic soap or buying my vegetables at the local farmer’s market these small decisions help change Back to naturemy world one choice at a time. I am aware that today major corporations use buzzwords like “organic” and “natural” to try and persuade people to buy their products. That is why I personally keep it local by shopping at local markets and local mom and pop shops. The money I spend stays in the community and is used to continue to produce products and produce that are safer and more natural to our environment and my life.

To conclude you have to do your own research and decide how you want to contribute to a more natural lifestyle. It means different things to different people and to me that’s a beautiful thing. Be sure to check for the most recent blog posts here at……..
